The Set List: It's a Hot weekend.

Doesn't it seem like we just got done with a long weekend? Eh, we're not compaining. Especially since we have a weekend crammed full of stuff to do. The wonderfulness is, of course, punctuated by our Hot List Block party on Park Central East. One price gets you drink specials and admission to five bars: Level 2, Trolley's, Fedora, Big Wiskey's and Icon Nightclub. We'll see you there.

Without further ado, our (not entirely self-promotional) Set List!

Friday

Cindy Woolf, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin at The Outland Ballroom; Cover TBA, 9 p.m.
Two of GO's personal favorites are onstage tonight, as Yeltsin opens for Cindy Woolf's release party for her new album, Beyond Daylight (look for a review in the next issue of GO Magazine). Do yourself a favor and take enough cash to buy an album.

The Mystery Hour at The Skinny Improv Comedy Theatre; $4, 10:15 p.m.
Mystery Jeff Houghton has a (MSU) star-studded lineup of guests tonight, as MSU president Dr. Michael Nietzel and head men's basketball coach Cuonzo Martin answer his random questions, and Blackbird Cathedral plays the music. Be there.

Greater Ozarks Blues Festival at Bass Pro; $20 at the gate, 4:30 p.m.
Night one of Bluesfest is possibly the better of the two (but don't tell John Mayall we said that). Tonight's headliner is JJ Grey and MOFRO, with ABS Band, Trampled Under Foot and Tommy Castro opening. Get there early (actually, if you're not there  yet you're missing the fun) and enjoy a beautiful night.

Saturday

The GO Hot List Block Party on Park Central East; $5-$10, 8-11 p.m.
Here it is, folks, our biggest party of the year*. Join GO Magazine for a star-studded night featuring red carpets, paparazzi, five bars and a number of the celebrities featured in our Hot List issue (on racks now). Get your wristband and GO cup, for drink specials, at the tent at Big Whiskeys for only $10 ($5 with a flyer). Then use that wristband later at Icon for free, VIP admisison.

The Sociables, Eddie & The Electrics at The Outland; Cover TBA, 9 p.m.
If you're wanting a little hip-hop, The Outland is the place tonight, as GMA Hip-Hop winners The Sociables flow like flowers. (that's flow-ers, not flowers).

Greater Ozarks Blues Festival at Bass Pro; $30 at the gate, 12 p.m.
Night Two of Bluesfest is actuall Day Two—it starts at noon and goes around the clock. The headliner is John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, preceded by the Cate Brothers, Teeny Tucker Band, Deanna Bogart Band and Delta Groove Blues Revue (with the Mannish Boys).

Sunday

Cloud City, Jesse James Wax Museum, Abandon Kansas at Randy Bacon Studio and Gallery; $8, 7:30 p.m.
Gallery Sounds makes a triumphant return with this show. If you like music for the music, you can't get better than this tonight.

Art Bentley at Brew Co.; Free, 9 p.m.
After the Bacon show, wrap up the weekend with a little free singin' from Art and a pizza... and a pitcher.

'Til next week!
