Hey yo. When next we meet, it'll be June, which freaks the Set List out just a little bit. No matter. There's a full weekend between now and then. On to the fun!Friday
A Midsummer Night's Dream at Jordan Valley Park, Free, 8:15 p.m.
The Springfield Shakespeare Gestival is off and running. Grab a blankey and enjoy some free classical theatre tonight under the starts.
Jeremy Lason, Jesse James Wax Museum at Randy Bacon's Studio and Gallery, $8, 8 p.m.
This show is a joint effort to celebrate the release of JJWM's new album, Paul. We hear it's fantastic, and the band is sounding tight. When Jeremy Larson is the second most-anticipated part of a show, you know it'll be good.
Springfield Cardinals vs. San Antonio, $5.50-$25.50, 7 p.m.
Watch the 'Birds take on the Missions.
Saturday
HOTBOX at Archie's, Free, 9 p.m.
Archie's brings some serious music, and it's awesome that they've started booking GO Music Award winner HOTBOX.
Help For Haley at Central High School, $10, $7 students, 7 p.m.
Not only will you enjoy the talents of the Tall Dark and Handsomes and Nick, Ruell and Ned the Band, you'll also have a chance to bid on personal or autographed items from Brad Pitt and Lucas Grabeel, and help a girl with ALS and her family make it through a trying time.
Murder By Deah, Dios, Gasoline Heart at the Outland Ballroom, Cover TBA, 9 p.m.
This is one of the best shows in coming weeks. Anyone who considers themselves a rock fan will be there (okay, enough hyperbole, but seriously, you should go).
Sunday
Art Bently at Brew Co., Shawn and Marcus at Ebbets Field, Free, 9 p.m./10 p.m.
Free music on a Sunday night? We'll take it.
'Till next week!
