Time for a new semester, and that means new snacks for the Epicurean crew. Here are our latest reviews of college-living-quarter-friendly edibles.

Ming Tsai Blue Ginger Hunan Noodles, $2.49 a box, Target.
Ramen noodles are fast and cheap. That’s why college kids eat mass quantities of them. Loosening up on the price and looking to upgrade on taste, we grabbed these noodles that come in a take-out box. One epicurean described it as spicy, but without flavor. The noodles came pre-cooked and had a rubbery texture. I think we were more impressed by the assembly-required spork and the packaging than the actual food.

Verdict: Save your money and stick with the Ramen. Something about precooked noodles doesn’t seem right.

Betty Crocker Warm Delights, $1.62 per serving, Target.
This microwaveable treat tastes pretty similar to a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven. Of course, nothing beats the real thing. But since your dorm room doesn’t come with an oven, or a mom to bake, your options can be limited.

Verdict: A decent knock-off of homemade, if you have a craving.

Flat Earth Baked Fruit Crisps-Peach Mango Paradise, $2.69 per bag, Target.
Looking for a change from the usual Dorito-orange fingertips, we grabbed a bag of these fruity chips. The bag says it has “½ serving of real fruit in every ounce.” One bite and we knew this was an honest bag. One of the Epicurean’s immediate response was a surprised laugh followed by, “it tastes like a peach gummy!” All of us where taken back by the fruitiness but agreed we neither hated nor loved it.

Verdict: This ain’t no Dorito. Eating this is more like biting into a piece of ripe fruit… with a serious CRUNCH.

Wild Blue, blueberry lager $7.99 a six-pack, Brown Derby.

“WOW, THAT IS DEFINETLY BLUEBERRY!”

“This would have been good with my blueberry pancakes this morning.”

“It tastes like a dessert.”

If you like blueberries and you like beer, this adult beverage will rock your world, though it comes awfully close to wine cooler taste realm. I personally love it, but would be lying if I said I could drink more than one. It tastes like a sissy beer, but I assure you, it is not. The kicker is that its ALC./VOL is nearly double that of your light beer–8 percent.

Verdict: Wild Blue makes a good breakfast and/or dessert beer. Best enjoyed in very mild moderation.
