Hypes and Gripes

Hypes to Shoji Tabuchi’s Branson theatre for being one of ten finalists in the “America’s Best Public Restrooms Contest.” We had no idea such an award existed, but we’re peeing with excitement.

Hypes to Storyline, the slightly altered reincarnation of One Star Story, for being that rare band that comes back after a post-college breakup. It’s like those two kids from American Pie… oh, you know… whatsthiernames.

Gripes to modern waiting rooms that don’t have working wifi. How many people shell out thousands of dollars to a certain local oral surgery center every year, yet they can’t offer those in their waiting room the convenience of accessing e-mail?

Hypes to city PR specialist Mike Brothers for keeping folks informed on mundane-but-important city events (like pension task force meetings) in an as-entertaining-as-possible manner at the CityConnect blog (springfieldmo.gov/cityconnect).
