The Pizza Issue
![]() |
What is it about pizza? Little kids love it. Grandparents love it. College kids with Xboxes love it. Sophisticated adults with stock portfolios love it. Pizza is delicious, pizza is versatile, pizza is communal.
And, with all apologies to our Italian readers (Ciao bella!), pizza is America’s food. Ergo, it’s Springfield’s food, and it’s high time we devoted prime real estate (read: a cover story) in this magazine to singing its praises.
But, like most things that make America great, the things that bring us together also divide us: Good luck finding five people who can agree on the best place from which to order a pizza, much less which ingredients should top it. It’s an endless debate, and one we won’t try to settle here. What we will do is recommend a dozen or so of our favorite selections from pizzerias and restaurants across Springfield, so you can at least narrow down your options. We’ve also created a handy page perfect for cutting out and posting on your refrigerator, or taping inside your phone book, so you have all the info you need right at your fingertips.
After all, pizza was made for sharing.
