“I think we enjoy music because it transplants us from where we are or what we are doing to another time and place. So ‘Lollipop’ might remind me of a good time at Icon with friends, while ‘Pretty Buildings’ brings back memories of a relaxing flight back from Chicago. I also think my music has balance. I like stuff that has a strong enough beat to keep me going on my run, to songs that are slow enough to allow me to think about my day, or a story idea. And of course, stuff you can sing to (alone) in the car. Oh, and did I mention this white boy loves the hip-hop?”
