Drink of the Issue: The Tipsy Turtle at The Tipsy Turtle

Signature drinks in bars tend to be complicated affairs, but that wouldn't fit the Tipsy Turtle on South Glenstone Avenue. It's not a complicated bar. There are no gimmicks, themes or pretense. The Tipsy Turtle drink is no different. It's smooth, slightly sweet and loaded with alcohol to get the party started.

WHAT'S IN IT: 1 ounce well rum, one half oz. Parrot Bay rum, one half oz. blue curaçao, pineapple juice to fill.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: "Man, that's a lot of booze in that thing! It looks like it's glowing green!" said the man on the barstool next to us. Yes, it is, and yes, it does. Even in normal lighting the drink is sort of incandescent.

WHAT IT TASTES LIKE: You taste no rum at all, mostly the pineapple juice and blue curaçao. Particularly astute drinkers will notice the Parrot Bay rum's kick of coconut flavor, but we're not particularly astute. We just like things that taste good.
