Where is it GOing?
So, as you might have figured out, GO is going the way of the dodo. But fortunately, the ashes of that dodo are being sprinkled throughout the fertile soil of other Whitaker Publishing products, namely 417 Magazine and 417mag.com.
For you that means you’ll continue to have a place to read some of our more quippy featurettes like GO Going Gone and nominate your friends for honors like Top Singles. Here’s how it all breaks down (plans are tentative, but likely to occur, FYI).— Matt Lemmon
To 417 Magazine • Annual honors and their accompanying events, including next month’s Bartenders’ Bash, 20 Under 30, Top Singles and Fashion ICONS (to be seen this year as Best-Dressed in the March edition of 417 with a show to be dubbed FashionNation). Slick pages and a larger readership to draw from will add to the panache of these events, we think. • Some fun front-of-book features, including GO-Going-Gone and an online-comment inbox. You’ll also get to read my stuff more often: Editor Matt Lemmon of GO will be come contributing editor Matt Lemmon of 417, so I’ll be writing more stories there. | To 417mag.com • Blog features like the Monday blog roundup, Comings and Goings, The Set List and more will be added to the 417 Blog rotation (the Geek might even make an appearance from time to time). The 417 Blog will shortly be the go-to, continually updated entertainment and information source in Springfield. Just you wait and see. Look for some design changes launching in February. • The GO Stop weekend e-newsletter will be re-branded and re-launched after the first of the year. It will keep its weekend commentary from yours truly and a rundown of the best events happening during the weekend. Hot Tip Sheet e-newsletter recipients will begin receiving the 417 Best of the Week e-newsletter (it’s basically the same thing) on December 21. You can unsubscribe, though we hope you won’t. |
