The GO Music awards are almost here. Get details about the big day.

So you’ve met the five bands up for our first-ever Best Band award, now hear them compete live in front of their fans and our panel of four judges. Where better to showcase the most exciting musical talent in Springfield than at Rock’n Ribs, hosted by Springfield Rotary Clubs, where scores of barbecue experts let you sample their tangy, meaty creations, the beer flows freely and they put “Rock” right in the title. GO Music Awards bands play from 12:30 to 6 p.m. with awards presented for all GO Music Awards categories at the end (where else will you get a day-long concert with food included?). Then you can keep partying to more music from What’s Next? and the Mark Chapman Band (don’t miss Regarding Dan or M Dock on Friday night, either). You might also want to stick around Saturday night for the Winners’ Dinner at 6:30 p.m., sponsored by 417 Magazine (Visit 417mag.com for tickets and info).
